Freelance/Contract Work (November 2014 – Present)

Freelance Communication designer – I have worked on many different projects both big and small in the past 18 months including work for clients such as Jacobs Creek, Canon Australia/National Geographic, Anytime Fitness Clubs and Thule Australia.

My focus has been on improving the UX and UI of many of my client’s websites. I have utilized user research to help resolve user experience problems with clients such as the Hills District Tennis Association where users were often unable to access many of the features when viewing on a mobile as well as found it hard to navigate throughout the site. Research found that 70% of their users were mobile customers and that a mobile first approach was necessary to solve this issue and google analytics was implemented to help analyze user patterns to discover which areas of the site where being clicked on the most which helped shape future updates.

Hired by The Story Lab as part of a 5-member team to help build the #bettertogether social media campaign for Jacobs Creek wine – Twin Pickings. The creative task was to help regenerate interest in the product by tapping into the exact audience that enjoyed the product and interacting with them in a live environment. The success of the campaign saw the page reach 11,000 Page Likes with thousands of individual likes, shares and tags to go along.

Zealed Digital Agency – Senior UX/UI Designer (November 2012 – August 2014)

Hired by Zealed Digital Agency in November 2012 to take over as Lead Creative. My role at Zealed has been to drive every project from concept to creation. My main role required me to create unique and cutting edge user experiences and interfaces, starting with detailed wire-frame scopes for each project, design concepts, HTML5 & CSS coding as well as managing client and project relationships.

Professional Experience

One Big Switch – Junior UX/UI Designer (October 2012 – November 2012)

Hired by One Big Switch during an important phase of growth for one of Australia’s fastest growing startups. Together with the Creative Director, we re-engineered the UX/UI for OBS customers to cater for the growth in services provided by the company to its customers.
Key role in designing and implementing the brand identity and UX for the “Truth in Banking” Campaign which launched in partnership with Channel Seven Australia. Over 20,000 borrowers used this Interest Rate Calculator within the first 48 hours and as a result we were able to capture important information and send those customers personalized emails to further implement the product.
